Choose the grade level your child is at and the app automatically assembles the sight words list for them to practice for their appropriate level. Use the quiz feature in the app to challenge your child and monitor their progress over time. Once they have mastered the words at their level challenge them by going to the next level.

SELF-PACED LEARNING
1. Flash Cards – Choose your childs grade level or above and have them practice their sight words. When they want to check if they said the word correctly they can simply press the words and hear the word’s pronunciation.

2. Sight Words Quiz – Your child taps on the bullhorn to hear the word they need to identify. Then they press one of the four options for the word. The app then lets them know if their choice was correct. After the quiz is completed they are presented with the total number they got correct.

TEACHER ASSIGNED LEARNING
With our latest enhancement to the app and our new integrated web portal, teachers are able to customize and assign sight words to their students and to track their progress.

Sight Words IO is a new EDUCATIONAL READING APPLICATION by Alec Duncan. The app is designed to help children learn and practice reading the most common sight words.

Sight words, sometimes referred to as “high-frequency words” are words that occur for up to 75% of the words used in reading materials primarily those for children.

Learning sight words is said to be particularly useful as these words don’t follow typical phonic patterns and hence cannot be sounded out. Knowing these words will help accelerate your child’s reading.
